The Hangover (2009) is a very funny movie and I give it a King. There is something about it, which prevents me from doling it an Ace. It is hard to explain, but not as hard to explain as a tiger in the bathroom licking its chops as you take a piss.
The Hangover involves four dudes going to Vegas to enjoy a bachelor party. Things get all fouled up and we are shown the group the day after the party and their villa suite in shambles. One of their buddies is missing and finding him now becomes the goal of the film for the remaining dudes. They have to get their buddy back before the big day.
There is some god awful funny shit going on in The Hangover. In particular, I liked the scene of the crime the next day. It was downright hilarious watching them awake to discover a ransacked room, chickens, a tiger and even a baby in a closet. One buddy was missing a tooth. The setup is then finding out what the hell happened the night before.
I think if it has one drawback is that the humor piles on perhaps crossing the line into total ridiculousness. I think a flick like this really hits the mark when just about everything in it is believable to a certain degree. That is easier said then done. Despite that, even the parts that aren't that believable, such as a naked Asian guy popping out of the trunk of a car, were really freaking funny to watch. There was also great chemistry in the group of dudes. The Hang Over is good comedy all the way around.
